Teluk Kemang Observatory, also known as Baitul Hilal, is a lunar observatory at Klana Beach Resort, situated between Teluk Kemang and Pantai Purnama in PD. Established since 2012 at a cost of MYR38 million, the state-of-the-art complex features a sophisticated 24-inch telescope for tracking the moon, stars and various celestial objects in the sky.
There is also a solar telescope for daytime viewing of the sun, along with an observation deck equipped with mounted binoculars. Open daily to public between 3-5pm and 10.30pm-midnight, visitors are ushered to a theatre for an astronomy presentation before a guided tour of the observatory, including viewing the sky through the telescope. An admission fee is charged (free for hotel guests).
